春の特別公開のご案内

拝観料：1,000円
境内ではツツジが彩りを添え、新緑が美しく広がる季節を迎えております。
本年の春の特別公開では、通常は非公開となっている竹の間の一室を公開いたします。
竹の間に入ると正面に見える勅使門は、皇族の方々がご参詣の際にのみ用いられる門です。
勅使門から入られる皇族関係者は、狩野永徳の襖絵を備えた虎の間を通って曼殊院へと進まれます。
お供の方々には、現存する最古の版画を備えた竹の間からの入口が設けられています。
それぞれに入口が設けられ、両方を芸術と技術の粋を尽くした空間が迎えています。
今回の特別公開では、通常は非公開となっている竹の間の一室から、勅使門を正面に望む格別の眺めをご覧いただけます。
かつて皇族の方々が通られ、楽しまれた空間と眺めを、春のやわらかな光の中でゆっくりと味わっていただけます。
また、大書院では庭に向かって静かに腰をおろし、移ろう光とともに庭を楽しむひとときをお過ごしいただけます。
公開中の竹の間では写真撮影が可能です。
大書院内では、指定の場所から写真撮影をしていただけます。

Azaleas are in bloom and fresh spring greenery fills the temple grounds.
During this year's Spring Special Viewing, a section of the Bamboo Room that is ordinarily closed to the public is open to visitors.
Upon entering the Bamboo Room, the Chokushi-mon (Imperial Envoy Gate) stands directly ahead. This gate is used exclusively when members of the Imperial family visit the temple.
Those entering through the Chokushi-mon proceed into Manshuin via the Tiger Room, adorned with sliding door paintings by Kano Eitoku.
Attendants enter through the Bamboo Room, which houses one of the oldest surviving examples of woodblock printing in Japan.
Separate entrances are provided, and both are welcomed by spaces of exceptional artistic and technical refinement.
Visitors may enjoy an exceptional view of the Chokushi-mon from the normally closed inner section of the Bamboo Room.
The very space and vista once experienced by members of the Imperial family may now be savored in the gentle light of spring.
In the Great Shoin, guests are invited to sit quietly facing the garden and spend unhurried moments with the changing light and landscape.
Photography (still images only) is permitted within the Bamboo Room.
Within the Great Shoin, photography is permitted only from specified locations.

竹の間
江戸時代の木版画(唐紙)による襖絵。
大玄関内部にある竹の間の襖には、竹と雲の模様をあしらった唐紙が使われている。一見、手描きされた竹のように見えるが、実は木版画による印刷である。竹と雲の意匠は、当院の名「竹内門跡」にちなむものといわれる。この技法は、日本における最初期の木版唐紙として知られる。
Take-no-ma (The Bamboo Room)
The fusuma sliding doors in the Take-no-ma room, located within the Great Entrance, feature wallpaper adorned with patterns of bamboo and clouds.
At first glance, this wallpaper appears to be hand-painted, but it is in fact produced through woodblock printing during the Edo period.
The motif of bamboo and clouds is said to derive from the temple's historical name, "Takenouchi Monzeki." This technique is regarded as one of the earliest surviving examples of woodblock-printed decorative paper in Japan.
